Barefoot In The Garden

Yes I know my little neglected blog is all lonely and stuff -- we have been having a good time living.

And I barely restrained my self from singing TOE-PICK - all around the ice rink!

Today we went bowling for the first time -- unfortunately there was none of THIS which is probably good (I mean with the kids there and all - but I LOVE that movie - in all it's cheesiness!) I would have LOVED to see the senior bowling league that was there break out in song!  HA!

And in a the spring I will be teaching a class on plant propagation and gardening  -- but I guarantee my class won't look like this!!

I can't help it I know it's bad, corny, and not "proproriate" but I LOVE IT!!  Makes me smile every time!

And Yes I really am teaching a gardening class -- I can't believe the response I have gotten -- I have so far a total of 18students (broken up into 2 classes) and the possibility of also taking the "show on the road" to a local co-op. This is SO COOL!!!

Thing 2 "Skating Diva"

I HAD to post this! Look at the smile on his face!! This was their first time on skates.

So - it's National De-Lurking week! Post already! ;-)  I know you're out there, some blogs have gotten over 200 de-lurkers! Ha! I know I won't get THAT many but I'm shooting for 50! Ollie Ollie oxenfree come out come out wherever you are!

Sound bites of my day...

Just a couple of snippets...

"What's a parade without a donkey??"

They were making a parade with thier toys and Thing 1 grabbed the donkey from the Playmobile Nativity.

"Mama - I'm going to build a special room to protect the Arc of the Covenet - then God can get in and I'll protect Him from the bad guys. It'll have swords and knights and lazers and a cactus to fall on them and a dog to lick them....."

On the way home from the Library Thing 1 (again) asked whre the 10 commandments stones were - we got into a discussion about the Arc and where it was, and the fact that it's "lost". I say "lost" because frankly I think if God wanted us to find it - we would. It's a very powerful thing and I have the feeling there would be those who would try to use it for evil. So God is keeping it hidden. My personal opinion only.

I think I'll keep him!!! What a cutie! I have pics of Thing 2 and a story but I have some editing to do to cover their faces.... ;-)

Are you where you thought you'd be at this stage in your life?

No -- BUT -- Again, as always, God's plan is better than mine. I wouldn't be anywhere else. I am blessed to be able to stay home with my kids, and have a husband who is an amazing provider, and the child of a God that loves me enough to give His only Son for me.

Bonus: What is one question you wish people would ask themselves?

Am I building up those around me or tearing them down?

Or what I did on my bloggy vacation.....

1. My SIL gave birth on Saturday 1/6 to a healthy 8lb 13 oz baby boy!!!! PRAISE GOD!! I haven't gotten pics yet (she live in Florida, We don't)

2. I spent alot of time LIVING my life instead of blogging about it. Nothing wrong with blogging - but it was gettin to be a HABIT - ya know?

3. I read - ALOT - some trashy novels (I love historical romance), a couple of real "good"ies. And started a new bible study.

4. MIL did NOT come down for Christmas after all -- it was a drama - not on her part - long story - basically somebody owed her $$ and that somebody didn't pay up - hence no $$ to come down. She has gotten the money now and will come down on Friday - leave here on Sunday to fly down to see the new baby and then come back a week later stay  a couple days and then head home.

5.Christmas was fun. The kids really go it this year -- they got some great gifts. Hubster outdid me again! Evey year we try to stick to a budget - and I would rather forgo gift for me in lieu of the kids - HA! He got me a ton of new Christmas decorations (I am a addict!) and gift cards to VS and New York and Co. And DIAMOND EARRINGS!  Yes he did!

6. FIL got me a new cell phone! We're on a family plan with Dad so we can't upgrade without him (grrr) so I have been bugging him for a few months my phone was a dinosaur in cell phone years - so I got a shiny new one with a mp3 player and a camera and everything!

7. I have been giving myself carpel tunnel cross stitching a baby blanket for my brand new nephew. I am about 2 weeks from being done.

8. Took the kids to see Disney Princesses on Ice - my mom bought the tickets. I am belch about the whole - "find a prince and your life will be perfect" routine BUT the show was cute (and kinda strange since my kids have only seen Cinderella - once. Thing 2 was afraid of the cat.They are vaguely familiar with some of the other characters but didn't know the songs etc) The last scene with the dragon from Sleeping Beauty was really cool!

9. There have been several birthday parities to attend and much fun was had by all. Thing 1's 6th birthday is coming up next month!

10. Back on the wagon with homeschooling - we kind-of took a break in the buildup to Christmas - we are getting back into a routine (but still only doing workbooks  about 3 days a week). I have plans for 2 really good lessons this week. I will post them separately (and how well they actually turn out)

11. DH found a couple of guys at church who have RC cars like him - we spent about an hour after church yesterday watching the other 2 guys run their cars - and the kids had a GREAT time chasing them! We're lucky our church has this field all around  it - we have BBQs and Community yard sales there and turns out the field is also perfect for racing buggies and truggies. Dh is bringing his car to church next week!
