OK -- so since I am still chewing on the billboard post...
I am teaching a Gardening class at my house and at a local co-op. IT IS GOING SO WELL!! I have been teaching the co-op for 2 weeks and I'm off this week because they have a field trip planned. This Wednesday I started teaching the same classes at my house. Those of you local will remember that it was POURING on Wednesday. So the class where we play in the dirt and plant a bunch of stuff had to be done in my house.
The house that my bet friend and I had spent 5 hours crisis cleaning the day before! And boy can she clean -- she bleached my walls! She cleaned things I wouldn't have thought of and once they were clean I realized how DIRTY my house was... bad Flybaby.... but WOW my house looked nice. At least the public rooms did. Never mind my "craft room" which is really a dungeon room and my bedroom (where all the baskets of laundry went) and the kids room.... Well it looks like ToysRUs exploded in there. Moving on....
SO, the class had to meet indoors. I pulled out my picnic quilt which is really just the bottom of the quilt (I still have to make the top) which is made of denim -- imagine it a 9 foot square quilt made of cut up jeans. It's HEAVY DUTY - and just plain heavy. I laid that over my carpet and put the bag of soil in a big plastic container, all the kids gathered around in my living room and the moms and the younger sibling hung out in our playroom - which is a small enclosed porch which had been re-done by the previous owners. It was a little cosy. But it really worked. All the moms were so nice. and the kids were A.DOR.A.BLE. I am however looking forward to having my next class outdoors!
I had a wonderful assistant for my classes as well. A friend of mine and her hubby recently gained custody of her hubby's 14 year old daughter (from a previous marriage) and they have decided to homeschool. SO I get to be her science teacher and I gain an assistant for my classes! She was a huge help.
Stay tuned for the further adventures of the Barefoot clan!
